Guest chad
Hi all, I'm running Mandrake 9.1 and cannot, after many attempts, get Drakfont to install a couple of TrueType fonts. The install finishes fine but after restarting X, the fonts are listed with all the other fonts but not available for any applications. Since I cannot seem to get Drakfont working, is there a way to install the fonts without Drakfont? Thanks for any help you can give.
DragonMage
I believe the solution can be found up there in the Old Docs section. Here is the exact link http://www.mandrakeusers.org/docs/xwin/xfont.html#Add
GuoJing
An easier solution: Open the Control Center, and use Font Installer in System to do the work (just browse for the TTF's, add to the list then click Apply). DrakeFont is useless for me.
tyme
Open the Control Center, and use Font Installer in System to do the work (just browse for the TTF's, add to the list then click Apply). DrakeFont is useless for me. Do you mean the Mandrake Control Center? Because the font program in the Mandrake Control Center is DrakFont, if memory serves me. GuoJing
No, the other Control Center, the one you don't need to enter the root password to open.
tyme
No, the other Control Center, the one you don't need to enter the root password to open. KDE Control Center, then? Please specify, as those seeking help would be confused-specifically if they aren't using the KDE desktop environment.

Guest Peo
I had the same problem - solved installing fonts from KDE Control Center. Don't know how to make it under Gnome. :(
