DOlson
The subject says it all, I think. Problem is that I don't see how to revert the custom trash icon to the original... It's annoying!!!!! Using Gnome 2.2. Thanks.
Cannonfodder
what happens if you login as root and go to /home/youraccount and delete the trash can? It should replace it and may use a default?
DOlson
I don't even need to be root to do that. But no, the trash icon stays to the custom one. I'm going to look in gconf and see if it's in there... But really, you shouldn't have to do that. That's like.... Windowsish... *shudder*
tyme
gnome 2.2 has a lot of weird quirks that will supposedly be fixed in 2.4 i hope...i don't even want a trash icon on my desktop.
DOlson
I fixed it, but the Gnome people said I wasn't even supposed to be able to change the icon in the first place, aside from using themes.
Cannonfodder
I did it too.. Just change the /usr/share/gnome/48x48/filesystems/gnome-fs-trash-empty.png and trash-full.png files Then restart xserver (or maybe just log out?)..
DOlson
No, that's changing the theme. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about open the properties of the trash icon, then drag and drop a new icon onto the trash icon. You're not supposed to be able to do that, apparently. Cannonfodder
Oh you mean an icon editor? But I don't get it? Where is the icon? All the trash files I see are .png files?
