Hi.

I have problems installing 9.1 on my computer. I get the first screen, where I press enter to begin the installation, then the computer hangs, and the capslock led flashes.

Here is a list of my HW:

Asus P4C800 motherboard

Intel P4 3.0 GhZ 800 MzH FSB

Geforce FX 5200 8x AGP

Maxtor diamond plus 9 SATA drive

I suspect the motherboard of being too new, so that somthing hangs it.

I would like to hear if anyone has any idea on how to fix it!

thanks

Hi

The "linux vga=0" option got me a bit further. I also had to do some bios modifications though. (set IDE Master 1 to CDROM, and set the IDE Drive to Compatible mode).

But now I get a problem where it says "Unable to uncompress second stange RAMDRIVE". Does anyone know how to fix it?

The installation says it might be a HW problem, or maby a bug in the kernel. I have 1 GB of Corsair CMX512-3200C2 installed.

thanks

Doh. Rookie mistake... It seems that my CD was broken, cause I just tried with a new one, and now mandrake is up and running. Only problem is that the SATA disk has to be set to compatible mode in BIOS. Does anyone know is SATA is suportet in Mandrake yet?

Anyways, thank you for the help....
