riorama
Greetings, Ive got my apache up and running strong, and my config scripts seem to be in order (chost, httpd, conf, etc). I can't seem to get apache to list the contents of a directory; it only searches for index.html. I have adjusted everything I can think of in linuxconf, and in the vhost conf (indexes option). Still I am forbidden. What am I missing? Is this enough information to be helpful? Please any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!! Also, any helpful suggestions will get you my first born, and perhaps a half a tin of dry coffee. Cheers 8)
tyme
make sure the permissions on the directory which you are trying to get listed are correct. it should be readable to all (not writable however).
riorama
I got it! I had to look in webmin under default directory directives. I wonder why those didn't match the apache defaults in linuxconf :x Thanks take care
tyme
I've learned not to trust Linuxconf. someone told me that once, but i never believed them until recently. i'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, but, who knows.
