Does anyone know how to ge the castlewood Orb Drive working in MDK 9.0. When I put a disk in my machine freezes and I see and icon for a dynamic hard dive, blink on the desktop.

Maybe it's trying to load a missing driver. If that's the case, and supermount is enabled, it could take some time. Give it 20 to 30 minutes and then see if it asks you to insert any mandrake disks.

You may have trouble finding a driver for the Castlewood ORb drive. See this site to find out if it is compatible with any Linux: http://lhd.zdnet.com/ .

Then look here to see if it is compatible with Mandrake Linux: http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/hardware.php3 . If you do find a driver, you might need to disable supermount. See the tips and tricks topic for instructions on doing that.

I found the driver but I can't figure out how to compile it. The driver source name is ide-disk.c. When I try to compile it using make, I get a message saying that make cannot find the file called /rules.make. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
