Realtek 8139 integrated chipset driver loads......but

but gives transmit errors when checked by dmesg command.

Mandrake control center sees the network card, am able to assign IP/s to it and ping the same but when I try to ping other machines on the network it just fails.

Also when left for a dhcp server to assign the address the nic never receives an IP.

The machine is a 2 ghz pentium celeron.

256 MB ram

agp 4x extreme graphics card

integrated sound card Sis

Also cat of /proc/interrupts shows the nic receiving a non conflicting irq
