qeldroma
How do i have to configure my server to allow filetransfers? It's a server with a static internetconnection. My aim is, that i can transfer files from my clients and receive them. The messaging and chatting works, when i activate "via server". Server uses iptables, forwarding and masquerading. I opened port 5190, that should be the reason why traffic works. If the solution is to allow direct connections to my clients, how do i allow it? As i read, the port for this is dynamic and i do not want to open a wide range of ports in my firewall...
Guest itti
if you don't want to open all ports above 1024 you have to use a dynamic firewall instead of an static packet filter firewall... i'm not sure if this is available as a software solution. typically it's hardware based. dynamic firewalls "see" if some port has to be opened or not.
