I have run into a little ' bug' . Its probably an easy fix, but here goes.

Asus a7v8x-x with onboard analog devices AD1980 codec and via chipset. The via sound driver works with alsa, but the audio comes out of the mic input instead of the line out. Is there an easy way to change a config file to move the mic and audio to the correct ports?? This should be setable in software...

I uninstalled the Asus provided ADI1980 sound driver and installed the latest VIA driver. I get the same issue. -- this is of course in windows-- Seems that Asus has decided to change the ports on the back and edited thier driver appropriately to output to the new setup.

Is there anyway to tell the alsa or oss driver to do something similar?? Its an annoyance to have to move my speakers to a different output when I switch back and forth between linux and winblows
