Greg2 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 No matter what player I use, there's "lag" (I suppose that's not the right term but you get the idea). I would suggest that you check if you're using the proper nvidia driver, and that you have direct rendering, with (as user) in a terminal cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf |grep -i nvidia; glxinfo |grep direct If the output is ok, then you can open the media player you want to use e.g., mplayer > preferences > video > available drivers, and select the one that works best for you. I use gl with my nvidia cards, so I would suggest trying that one first. You should also enable direct rendering and frame dropping here. You can try different settings until you're satisfied.
