satelliteuser083
I've just tried to install TiMidity onto my mva2006 box, but MCC/Software Packages Installation gives me the (really informative ;) ) message that: Sorry, the following package(s) can't be selected: TiMidity++-2.13.2-10mdk Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks.
neddie
Maybe you can get a more meaningful error message from the command line? Open a console, run "su" to become the root user, and then do this: urpmi timidity and see what that says. Or this to find out more information about it: urpmq timidity You might also want to check if your selected mirrors are up and if the 2006 repos are still on there. satelliteuser083
Thanks, neddie, I did as suggested: [root@localhost ~]# urpmi TiMidity++ To satisfy dependencies, the following 3 packages are going to be installed (33 MB): TiMidity++-2.13.2-10mdk.i586 libportaudio0-18.1-4mdk.i586 timidity-patch-freepats-20040611-1mdk.noarch Is this OK? (Y/n) y and TiMidity++ now works. Strange, though, that MCC wouldn't do it, don't you think? No change to mirrors etc was required. Anyway, once again, many thanks.
