Hi,

I've a problem with ASLA and my sound card:

alsamixer don't have the IEC958 playback control. The SPDIF output of my on-board sound card doesn't works (works on Windows XP, on the same computer)....

My sound card is Intel 82801DB-ICH4 and the chip is Realtek ALC655 rev 0.

I'v tried to remove /etc/asound.names and /etc/asound.state. And run alsaconf but the IEC958 control is not here!!! :wall:

This is a summary of my setup:

How I can have my soundcard working with SPDIF output???

Thanks for your help!

The first thing to do would be to start up alsamixer or some other mixer program, and start unmuting/turning up things to see if it's simply muted by default. note that sometimes outputs won't be properly identified, so you may have to mess with a couple different volume controls to see if any of them have an effect.

other than that I'm not sure, as I've never messed with SPDIF in Linux.
