Guest ndeb
http://www.enterprisedt.com/publications/dual_boot.html I am aware the mbr isnt ntfs. Those articles are some of the many howto's describing how ntfs windows systems and linux can coexist on a drive. That is what led me to believe the mbr should not be written to by anything other than Windows when Windows uses and ntfs partiton. This particular article ends up installing win2k on fat32, not ntfs. And its totally misleading since I have win2k (FAT32)/linux dual-boot with lilo in MBR. It works fine. Cannonfodder
I was just reading the man lilo page and according to it, if you have /dev/hda, you are actually installing to mbr. While reading this thread, I got the impression that you gusy are referring to something different. Am I missing something?
