Keyboard Issues with Mandriva 2008.0

I have an Inspiron 6000 laptop with a wireless external keyboard/mouse (Logitech LX-300 Navigator). I frequently take my laptop to go (obviously disconnecting my peripherals.)

Whenever I log into Mandriva (with my kb/mouse connected) some keys do not work or work as expected. When I press the down key on my keyboard, it registers as "Enter" and the other keys do nothing. However, If I go into the Control Center and go to the keyboard settings and don't change anything (just press OK or Cancel) the keys work normally. I have set this with the Logitech keyboard or the generic keyboards, doesn't change a thing.

In addition, no matter what setting I have my keyboard under, whenever I press the "delete" button, it registers as a "take screenshot" very frustrating trying to shift-delete files.

(None of these things happen when I the kb isn't connected)

THe last thing I have a pet peeve about is everytime I log in, it asks about the X vs GNOME settings regarding my keyboard and mouse. It generally happens when I plug in-out my kb/mouse set and I do not know what it really means. No matter which I choose, I still get the above symptoms when I have my keyboard attached.

Thanks in Advance for any help

-Mark
