Guest Mathieu
Hi, I am trying to install my printer, a Brother MFC240C on Mandriva 2008.0. I ran urpmi cups: there is no such package rpm -qa | grep cups: libcups2-1.3.0-3mdv2008.0 libgnomecups-0.2.2-4mdv2008.0 libgnomecups-1.0_1-0.2.2-4mdv2008.0 so I installed packages manually, from the CD. I now have: cups-common-1.3.0-3mdv2008.0 cups-drivers-splix-1.0.1-3mdv2008.0 cups-drivers-lxx74-0.8.4.2-3mdv2008.0 libcups2-1.3.0-3mdv2008.0 libgnomecups-0.2.2-4mdv2008.0 cups-1.3.0-3mdv2008.0 cups-drivers-magicolor5430dl-1.8.1-4mdv2008.0 gutenprint-cups-5.0.1-4mdv2008.0 libgnomecups-1.0_1-0.2.2-4mdv2008.0 cups-drivers-magicolor5440dl-1.2.1-4mdv2008.0 cups-drivers-2008-2mdv2008.0 cups-drivers-magicolor2430dl-1.6.1-4mdv2008.0 mfc240ccupswrapper-1.0.0-9 cups-drivers-pegg-0.23-3mdv2008.0 but urpmi cups still complains there is no such package installed. I am not a noob, I am an experienced linux/solaris user. I am just new to mandriva. Thanks for your help. Mathieu
