Guest pampa Posted April 11, 2003 Report Share Posted April 11, 2003 I was trying to change my hostname. I launched the network config and set it up. I have a cable modem internet connection. Since then I have a very slow system. From internet connection to application launch it is very slow. I can see that my uploads are quick but my download speed is really bad. I remember that one day I did something similar and I got problems with name resolving. Could it be that? How can I get my system response back? What should I check? Guest pampa Posted April 13, 2003 Report Share Posted April 13, 2003 I figured out what was the problem. I verified that only my user was having a slow response. I checked my users groups and it had the mldonkey one (created by the mldonkey rpm from contrib). I don't now why, but taking out that group was enough to have my machine back!!!!
