scarecrow
The files are there... I suppose their hdlist is out of sync. Can you try another PLF mirror?
pipa
Thanks for your reply. I tried another mirror and its working now. I have another question: Websites like youtube or other websites offers to view videos online on the browser itself. Is it possible to do that in linux on firefox? I tried, it brings up mplayer but it stops responding as soon as it loads. Any suggestions?
pmpatrick
Do you have java and flash installed?
pipa
i dont think so. How do I do that?
scarecrow
java plugin, flashplugin, mplayer-plugin (or, if you use konqueror for browsing, you can substitute the latter with kmplayer or kaffeine). If your mplayer is armed with a complete codecs pack, you can playback "almost" anything in your browser ( e.g. shockwave content is still an exheption). dude67
I am fairly new to linux. Can you elaborate what should i install and how should I install that? I had the exact same problem as you are having, until I found this how-to link. I'm not very good at tuning my system and this helped me to get videos running in Firefox on my 2007.1 Free. I've posted this same link a few times and if you bear with it, this how-to will help you establish a nice desktop system of your Mandriva Spring (2007.1) Free. http://www.howtoforge.com/the_perfect_desk...007_spring_free If you don't like something, I think you can skip at least some parts of this how-to tutorial (I didn't install e.g. the VMware server). scarecrow
" no package named flash-player-plugin" This means you have not set up the Penguin Liberation Front (PLF) repos, which include non-GPL/proprietary software for Mandriva. Do it now using easyurpmi. On PLF you will also find the full codecs package- the one from regular repos is crippled.
