Guest rgskeet Posted August 20, 2007 Report Share Posted August 20, 2007 Hello, I am trying to set up Mandriva Spring 1 to access the internet via my cable modem AND access my local lan with XP based computers on it. I have the cable modem working fine on eth0 but when I try to set up the second nic card eth1 with a static IP it shuts down my eth0 connect to the internet. I do not want the computers on my local lan to have access to the internet.... Just be able to transfer files from the Internet computer. I had it setup this way when All the machines were Windows based... The modem is connect via cat5, I use a switch for the local network...
