hello there,

A friend of mine who was useing mostly only windows. Is now trying to use mandrake 9.1. His network cards are function under windows but not under mandrake. So long he is using only one of his networkcards

he can connect to the internet but if we put the second card in the computer he can only connect to lan but not the internet. It has nothing to do with the swiching of eth0 and eth1 to do. The networkcard who is connetted to the internet is not getting a connetion to the dsl modem.

Thank You!

It would be nice if somebody would answer who speaks german!

or in easy english!

I will try easy English. (You can also try to post in German in the Forum 'Translate Your Post Here' and maybe someone who speaks German will act as a translator for you. )

I may not be able to help, but we may need more information. What type of ethernet cards are they? Does it matter what PCI slot they are in? Can you write here what the output of this command is (you must be 'root') with both cards installed in the machine:

cat /proc/interrupts

Network card types:

- Realtek RTL8139C

- Intel EtherExpress

I also used a Realtek RTL 8029AS 10Mbit Network Card.

It seems unimportant what type of NW-Card i use, in what PCI Slots they are and which NW-Card ich use for DSL Internet and the LAN.

If 1 NW-Card (type seems to be unimportant) i have an internet connection, if there are 2 NW-Card in the PC and activated only the LAN works.

Please Help... i split the line with other users who momently dont't have a connection to the internet and the next time they could kill me ;)
