Guest Mark BAas
Hey... I have a laptop which seemed to use hda-intel as sound driver. At first look the sound worked (alsa 1.0.12), however as I already experienced on other distributions when plugging in the headphone the sound doesnt work anymore. However it seemed that it is fixed in newer versions. So i do what i did the last 10 years, including when i used to run mandrake, is downloading the new alsa-driver package and compiling it. However first i got the crap the Module.symvers is not available in the source tree. Then i rebuild the kernel and got the Module.symvers. However now i install the module and alsa doesnt get loaded due to wrong format like errors. I tried to compile alsa with both gcc 4.0 and gcc 3.3.6. Seemed to be no luck. I seek for help now. Does anyone know how to compile modules for the kernel? It shouldnt be that ***** hard right? Greetings
