hi there:)

I can't find an .iso file in the download of free mandriva linux 2007, any idea where to look for???

I've burned the dvd from the rar file, but when trying to install it says 'the dvd apears not to be an installation cd', or something like that.

Any help would be appr.it

thx

A hearty big welcome to MUB.

You can get it from here :-

http://www.mandriva.com/en/download/free

You should not be having anything to do rar at this stage. Where did you get it ???.

Check your ISP, they just might have it as an available Download.

Here in Australia, our main ISP, Telstra Bigpond has it for ADSL users and it doesn't count in the monthly download limits.

Your ISP may also do the same.

What you download should be an ISO and is not to be unpacked. It must be burnt as an ISO and do it at the lowest possible speed for best results.

Cheers. John.

Welcome sovy,

Your download should be fine. But: DO-NOT-OPEN-IT-WITH-WINRAR

Just burn it as image from your favorite windoze application ( suggesting IMGBURN which burns and verifies ISO images just fine).

And you shouldn't try installing it from windoze. Put the DVD in the drive, and reboot.
