Mandrake 9.1 and Apache Extranet Server

I just installed Mandrake Linux 9.1 and it installed what is called "Apache Extranet Server 2.0" Is this the same as Apache 2.0? When using webmin, it says "The Apache configuration file /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf does not exist. If you have Apache installed, adjust the module configuration to use the correct path."

This brand of Apache is working, but I guess webmin does not know where it's files are. Has anyone else had this problem and what is "Apache Extranet Server anyway" Is it from Apache? Should I uninstall this and install Apache 1.x?

the problem is that webmin is looking for apache version 1.0 files, not the 2.0 files. what you have installed is just the new version of apache, no need to install 1.x :-)

the changes you need to make are:

change the path to the httpd executable to: /usr/sbin/httpd2

and change the path to httpd.conf to: /etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf

Tyme,

By golly it worked!! Are you familiar with this version of Apache? I did some more reading and it seems that this version of Apache was made to work with Mandrake. But is this the version I should be working with? My intentions are to host my two web sites using Apache. The version that loaded with my Mandrake installation says Extranet. I just want to host my sites. Is ithis what I should be using? Or should I uninstall it and just install Apache 1.x?

as far as i'm aware it's just the new version of apache. i don't think it would be the default mandrake install if it had any intent other than being a webserver (at it's very basica level). i think the difference is just the various add-ons that didn't exist for 1.0 that one can use if you choose to do so.
