RVDowning Posted May 23, 2007 Report Share Posted May 23, 2007 I have 5 webcams, as follows: 3 Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX cams (USB 2.0) (Driver: dkms-gspcav1) 1 D-Link DCS-900 ip cam (Model B, Driver version 3.00) 1 Panasonic BL-C30A ip cam (pan/tilt) (Firmware version 1.30) Note that the latter two are IP cams. The only software I use with them are: CamE v1.9 Used to ftp images from my usb webcams to my web site. CamStream build 060613 Can be used to preview and ftp images from my usb webcams. I only use it if I need to preview an image because the cat knocked the cam and I have to line it up again. Too much overhead, for my taste, to have 3 webcam servers running. mcamip v0.7.8 Haven't used this yet, but may try to use this in conjunction with ftping changed images from my D-Link DCS-900 to my web site. The Panasonic BL-C30A already has this functionality built in. WebCamWatcher A self written Java application which lets one look at an unlimited number of webcam images on the net. This generally refers to ftp'd images -- not live video images. As soon as I get through screwing with this application, it will be available as the usual free download.
