Guest tcr54
Hi, Hardware : an "old" NEC PowerMate - PIII - 512Mo RAM- mothercard MSI with integrated video card and integrated sound card (I have RTC -external modem- connection on web  ). I'm french Linux newbie (sorry for my English...) . I have installed the Linux distribution Mandriva Free 2007 (4 cds). At this day, all work fine :D but I have a litte problem on booting. I use LILO in graphic mode but on booting, after screen LILO Countdown, I have a verbose boot -text with many blah blah ...[OK]- not a silent boot with a theme selected in mcc > boot (I have tested with all screen resoluition without success). I have checked all options and parameters passed to the core (resume= blahblah splash=silent), also I have checked the lilo.conf all seems to me good (I have read many French and English Howto's). Any ideas, solution are welcome, Thank you, Thierry

Guest tcr54
Check if you have the bootsplash package installed. And welcome aboard :) Hi, bootsplash package was already installed (default package from cds). My problem is always here... On my system I have 3 partitions: 1 > /dev/hda1 (system partition) 2 > swap 3 > /home/... (user partition) I have noticed that in mcc/boot: start peripheral is "/dev/hda (NEC-DTLA305020)" (this paramater came from installation, I did not change anything) That's parameter it good? Thanks for any clues, Thierry
