Gul Dukat
Hi, I seem to have a little problem here. The thing is, I did a clean install of Mandriva 2007 and after installing the kernel-source, I decided to install the nVidia-drivers out of the PLF-sources. No problem here. Everything went OK. After a reboot I logged into KDE, by the way the driver in the driver-section of my xorg.conf is nvidia, I wanted to make sure 3D-rendering was working OK. So I wanted to test it by measn of the command: glxinfo | grep direct But after I hit the Enter-key, X restarted and I saw the nVidia-logo and then I was able to login to KDE again. Same happens when trying to start a game which uses 3D, like Nexuiz or Planet Penguin Racer. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here or overlooking? Thanks in advance :)
Gul Dukat
By the way, the 3D-desktop is disabled. That's something for another time. ;-) Could it be I need to disable something in my xorg.conf?
ianw1974
What does your modules section look like in /etc/X11/xorg.conf? Mine is like this: Section "Module" Load "dbe" # Double-Buffering Extension Load "v4l" # Video for Linux Load "extmod" Load "type1" Load "freetype" Load "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia/libglx.so" EndSection
