SoulSe
Could you please provide us with more info please? Which temp folder (give us a path if you can) and what are the zip files? To remove them you could probably use the rm command. But lets first get more info and sort everything out. Welcome to the board :)
spinynorman
Go into the Mandriva Control Centre, select the Boot menu - Changing Your Boot-up Configuration. Click on the Advanced tab, and select to wipe /tmp on boot-up. :)
Guest Tradesman
Hi Guys, yes sorry I was a bit lacking in detail. When Im trying to start mandriva - I get to the log in screen, and I can add password and user name. Howver when KDE starts to load it stops and I get an error window which says that the /tmp folder is full and KDE cant load?? Im on the work laptop at the moment. Do you need th exact wording. Ive tried the rm -rf/usr/home/tmp* command but that hasnt solved it ( if its the right tmp folder as there seems to be more than one but the error command just states /tmp) I cant get into the command centre but I can get a konsole open. tyme
You might need to be root: $ su Password: [enter your root password that you set up during install here] # rm -rf /tmp/* Be sure you get all the spacing right.
ianw1974
I sometimes have problems with directories that don't remove, so use this: rm -rdf /tmp/* don't ask me why, but the additional d seems to solve my removing of directory problems. tyme
-d, --directory unlink FILE, even if it is a non-empty directory (super-user only; this works only if your system supports `unlink' for nonempty directories)
