I recently updated to mandriva 2007 and almost immediately noticed that Kaffeine and Xine wern't installed.

I them went to download xine and upon following the installation instructions got this error after the ./configure command

Configure: Error: zlib needed.

I checked the package list and it was in there.

This next error occured while trying to configure Kaffeine.

Checking for libz Configure: error: not found

Possibly configure picks an outdated version

installed by XFree86. Remove it from your system.

Check your installation and look into config.log

Lastly the gxine error

Configure: Error: libjs not found

Most of the package names sound the same in these errors. Are they all related?
