qeldroma
me: Someone asked me, if TV-OUT is possible under linux. For that, a confident lie is better than an instable truth, i told him, that there's certainly a way Wink Did i lie?? --------------------------------------------- DOlson: YES!!!!!!!!! JERK!!!!! J/k. Here's how I do it. 1) Turn off the PC. 2) Plug in the TV-out to the VCR or TV. 3) Unplug the monitor from the video card. 4) Turn on the PC. 5) Yay! --------------------------------------------- ndeb: Is reboot the only way to get tv out working ? Sounds more like windows. Here's some info: http://www.guru-group.fi/~too/tvout-voodoo3-3000-xfree --------------------------------------------- DOlson: ndeb, I do not know if it's the only way, nor do I care at this point in time. It is NOT like Windows, since in Windows you can click two buttons and it works.

Counterspy
I suggest that the person with the card takes a look at the manufacturer's site. There are people who have reported that it works but if there is no information on the manufacturer's site, it probably calls for Google and Google Groups. I would look in the newsgroup comp.os.linux.hardware as well as alt.os.linux.mandrake. Counterspy.

Guest kayosIII
What hardware are you using - here is a method I have used in past Create a version of /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 for TV out - setting the right modelines and options.... eg XF86Config-4-TV from a console start x as such $XF86Config=XF86Config-4-TV startx -- :1 this will start a new X Server without on TV out - you can switch between the two using CTRL+ALT+F7 and CTRL+ALT+F8
