Guest Paul Fisher
After upgrading from Mandriva 2006 to 2007, my Epson Photo Stylus 870 no longer prints. It worked fine under 2006 and still works under Windows (it's a dual-boot machine). I applied all the updates and when that didn't work, I wiped the disk and did a clean install of 2007 to replace the upgrade but that didn't help. The problem is the same no matter whether I connect the printer to the parallel port or USB. I get no error messages - jobs go into the queue and some stay there while others disappear as if they had printed successfully, but they didn't. The only suspicious thing is that when I try to configure the printer, it detects that a printer is present but doesn't correctly identify the model. I've manually selected the Stylus Photo 870 from the list and tried all four drivers listed for that model. Nothing works. Does anybody have a suggestion?
