qeldroma
What are the things, i'll have to do to update my ALSA (sound) to the actual beta? If i am right, it's more than just adding an actual package, or?
Guest SDMF
The final release of alsa 9.2 is out. Go to http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ and find your soundcard on the list. Click on the Details link for your card to get in-depth instructions.
Guest c_m_f
so is there no chance of this being sneaked into 9.1?
Guest ndeb
Probably not. Read http://www.mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?t=3729
DragonMage
Hmmm... cooker kernel... Anyway, it's too late for mandrake to change the ALSA in 9.1 since it's pretty much finalized. The one in 9.1 is rc8, which is good enough for me.. The thing about alsa homepage is that I cannot find the changelog for each new version, so I don't know what's new in each version. Guest ndeb
It could be possible if Mandrake did it the redhat way. Redhat-8.0 did not include the ALSA drivers as part of the kernel rpm. So one can get them seperately from http://psyche.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=934 . Now, mandrake could easily supply two seperate rpms: kernel kernel-alsa-drivers where and upgrade the kernel-alsa-drivers later on.
