tyme
it is possible, but be sure your system supports booting from USB (check it in your BIOS).

ianw1974
When does it freeze and at doing what? When detecting devices, or when trying to boot from the disks in the order you chose?

I think booting from a USB drive is going to be very inneficient. You can get an 80G HD for under £30 and companies like Maxtor provide cloning software FOC that will let you clone all the data on your existing HD. You could just add a 2nd drive but you would lose the benefits of having a newer and fast HD as your main drive.
