eppoh
Was finally updating my Mandrake 10.1 with newer Firefox and Thunderbird. Just got done with those two but before the update was finished I lost power. Now RPM is broken and none of the Mozilla applications will launch. How do I get RPM working again? Can I insert the CD and run repair or rescue? Edited October 28, 2006 by eppoh
ianw1974
How were you updating it? What was the process you did? Were you pulling updates from 2006 or 2007 to install on 10.1 using urpmi?
eppoh
I was using rpmdrake. Not sure where I was getting the updates from. I had just updated the sources, but don't remember.
ianw1974
OK, can you post the contents of /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg so we can see what you have configured. Also post the contents of /etc/mandrake-release.

Also post the contents of /etc/mandrake-release. Maybe I could if I had a browser working

ianw1974
Your main source is wrong, it's pointing to a devel repository. It should be almost identical to the contrib one, this is most likely where your problem is. You can boot from your CD's and do an upgrade of the system which would repair any problems, and I think this is your best way forward. Other than reinstalling from scratch if that doesn't work. You can try and remove the main source which you called gatech on your system by: urpmi.removemedia gatech and try and add the correct main source this time from the easyurpmi page. eppoh
Thanks, I missed that it was a devel source. I'll give it a try and let you know.
