how to open ftp and telnet service on Mandrake Linux 9.0?

I have installed mandrake server configuration wizard,

but the ftp wizard is so easy and i cant' configure ftp service detailedly,

i don't know how to configure ftp and telnet .

I don't have the exact answers you are looking for but try downloading a package called webmin and installing that

 

Open a terminal and type

 

urpmi webmin

 

This is a web based package that allows yoiu manage your linux system and has many modules for configuration of various servers, startup scripts, you name it.. what you don't have by default you can usually add as a module (assuming its been developed)

do you have shorewall installed ?? have a look /ect/shorewall/

 

if it is installed you will have to open the ports.

 

the ftpd is probley proftpd and in its default installed state you should be able to ftp to your home directory
