I'm using Mandriva 2007 on a Toshiba A60 Notebook. I also use the logitech mediaplay mouse which has special buttons to control a variety of mediaplayers. Using the Mandriva 2006 version there weren't any problems. But after the upgrade I had to redo everything.

Now 2 of the 7 special buttons aren't working and when the mouse is nut plugged in I get an error message while starting X saying that the serverlayout is reffering to an unvalid device, LMPCM. None of these problems occured in the 2006 version but I may have made some mistake in xorg.conf, it's different from the 2006 version.

This is the page with the script: Link

This is the code that I need to ad to Xorg.conf

Configuring X server
Edit the X server configuration file (/etc/X11/XF86Config for XFree86 or /etc/X11/xorg.conf for X.org) and change it to match this configuration: ...
Section "InputDevice"
 ...
 Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
 Identifier "LMPCM"
 Driver "mouse"
 Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
 Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
 Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
 Option "Buttons" "7"
EndSection

Section "ServerLayout"
 ...
 InputDevice "LMPCM" "CorePointer"
EndSection

* Notes: If you preffer to add Logitech MediaPlay Mouse as a secondary pointer device (example: for laptop computers), just replace "CorePointer" with "AlwaysCore".
* Dont's forget to restart the X server after changing configuration file.

And this is my Xorg.conf-file (unchanged); Inputdevice mouse2 is new since mandriva 2007
