Guest jbgrenouille
hi all, i have 2 IDE DVD drives installed in my machine. i correctly installed XP. now i want to install mandriva 2007 powerpack. i tried all the relevant options of the install menu, no way. i always get the same answer: "no CD-ROM drives found" ! Should i precise that to get to this answer, the DVD was read, the installation screen displayed, the 2 SCSI HDs detected, in other words, the DVD was accessed :-) ! my motherboard is an ASUS P5B model. I have some ideas to bypass the obstacle, such as using usb DVD or HD devices. but i'd like to get it to work the regular way... Any hint ? thanks everybody jbg
ianw1974
Check the BIOS for a Plug and Play OS option, if it's enabled, disable it. You can also try booting with additional parameters, such as: linux noapic and see if it makes a difference. You'll have to press one of the F keys to get the prompt to type.
