SoulSe
I'm trying to get idesk running. Whenever I try and start it I get: Can't find config file, or missing 'Config' table in the config file. But I did create the .ideskrc file in my home directory, acording to idesk's site, and filled it with this: table Config FontName: tahoma FontSize: 10 FontColor: #ffffff PaddingX: 35 PaddingY: 25 Transparency: 100 HighContrast: false Locked: false Shadow: false ShadowColor: #000000 ShadowX: 1 ShadowY: 1 Bold: false end It's irritating
bvc
Did you create the ~/.idesktop folder with the images for the icons and the .lnk's for position ect.... [bvc@localhost bvc]$ ls -a ~/.idesktop ./ folder_green.png home.lnk package_network.png ../ folder_grey.png kcmsystem.png penguin.png at folder_red.png kfm_home.png rpm.png aterm.png folder_violet.png kppp.png win/ Eterm.lnk folder_yellow.png mail_generic.png xmms.lnk filleclose.png gqview.lnk openterm.png xmms.png folder_blue.png gvim.lnk opera.lnk zip.png folder_cyan.png gvim.png opera.png [bvc@localhost bvc]$ here's my /home/bvc/idesktop.gvim.lnk table Icon Caption: gVim Command: gvim Icon: /home/bvc/.idesktop/gvim.png X: 963 Y: 399 end
SoulSe
Yip, I did. Put a link to Quake on it just to test it But since it can't find the config, I'm guessing it stops there without even looking for links in the ~/.idesktop folder... bvc
Post your .ideskrc. In your .idesktop folder keep it simple....like only one icon and one .lnk file.....maybe a syntax error or something? Are you either; make clean between attempts, or deleting the source tree and unpacking the tarball again? This is a must after a failed attempt, and sometimes deleting the source tree and unpacking the tarball again is necessary.
