rogerh
Hi, Just installed 2006 Free, and am connecting to the web via modem using KPPP. I cannot find where to control the volume for the modem, and as a matter of fact I can't spot the modem, the printer, or any of the peripherals on the hardware manager. Must be missing something, as all of that was accessible on 10.0. I would appreciate any info as to where the periperals are accessed. I'm sure it is simple - just can't find it, and the modem signalling is really annoying. Regards -- Roger
theYinYeti
Assuming kppp is working, then look into the advanced modem properties, and the volume should be there. Else try and spot some place where you can give custom init strings to your modem, and enter that: ATM0L0 Yves.
rogerh
Thanks - found volume adjustment in 'edit modem commands' of KPPP. Silence at last. Thanks again -- Roger
