fuzzylizard
I have a document that OpenOffice.org thinks was written in french. As such, when it does the spell check it is listing every word -- the document is really in English -- as being spelt wrong. Now, I have checked the language settings under Options and they are set to English - USA, but it still thinks the document was written in French. Any ideas of how to tell OpenOffice.org the document was really written in english and to do the spell check against an english dictionary? Guest BooYah
Somethings you can try: Tools->options-> writing aids -> in options make sure 'Check all Languages' is unchecked. If it's unchecked already, you might try unchecking the French language module for the time being. or (open your document) tools->options->Languages-> look at default languages and you'll see some things you can change. Notice there's a box to check for the current document default only, try checking that one. It sounds like you tired this one, though. or Copy and Paste everything to a new blank document whose default language is set to English.
