Seeding in BitTorrent

I'm having a bit of trouble with BitTorrent. I'm using version 4.1.4 beta, and most of the time, i can't get any of the torrents to download; I don't think it's because of a lack of activity. When I, at last, did get one to work, my upload rate remained at zero.

I'm not so familiar with Mandriva or Linux (or computers for that matter) in general, but I thought it might be an issue with a firewall, but the 'allow everything' option is checked, so I doubt that is the cause. Does anyone have any ideas.

If you need more info to diagnose this, I would be happy to give it...

How about trying another client?

I had but given up on this whole linux business, yet I come running back again... I'm so whipped.

Anway, I have tried using Ktorrent, and the same thing seems to be happening. I can download very active torrents but I can't upload; and I can do neither on even semi active ones. I played with the firewall again (as if I knew what I was doing), but ultimately to no avail.

Any ideas?
