Guest ndeb
Is this a 16MB card ? Make sure that color depth is 16. Resolution must be less than 1280x1024. Also XFree86-glide-module must be installed.
roc19
If you run drakconf you can run through the setup for the X. If you are using MDK9 you can select the to use the version of X that has hardware acceleration. I can't think of the version at the moment. I believe it is 4.2. It will say 3D acceleration so just choose that one and it should work fine. I've got a Voodoo3 3000 and it plays OpenGL games very well. SoulSe
I had the same card! Linux likes it alot. When you installed (I'm presuming you use MDK 9.0) did you select XFree with hardware acceleration? Do the following (from a terminal): $ glxinfo And look for a line that says: Direct Rendering: Yes If that's what you get, then you hardware is rendering, if it says no, paste your output here. Also, stay away from the Mesa packages, uninstall them if you have them. Mesa is basically opengl for linux, but is not necessary for your card and causes complications.
