Yeah, I downloaded it too, but when you go to run it (on Mandrake9) it keeps looking in the floppy after it asks for the Quake2 CD.

Then it doesn't recognise the CD and gives up.

Don't work for me.Maybe try getting these which DID work for me.

ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake2

Get the one called

q2-3.20-x86-full.exe

Please let me know if it works.

Also check out this page for help.

I have tried i_o_quake2-0.15.run and icculus_org_quake2-cdless.run.

The first one tries to install Quake 2 in my PC but fails. It does not seem to copy the data files of the CDRom. But mabe I am running the install wrong.

The cdless installer simply wont run from my PC.

I can't seem to find install instructions with either package. Does anybody know of a link with install instructions for these installers.

Back to Wolfenstien I guess.

ral;

I thought you said that did not work? Yes you did say that, I just looked.

I'm only trying to tell you what worked for me.

The icculus_org_quake2.run did not.

You might try compiling it from the source, which also worked for me, it's on the same link that razor posted.

It's a little more complicated than RPM, but it does have all the instructions included.
