scarecrow
Isn't that supposed to be a Quicktime 7 videofile? Why divx is needed for that? By the way I can view it fine with kmplayer and a normal codec package, as well as vlc. Edited August 16, 2006 by scarecrow
theYinYeti
Mpeg4 has nothing to do with divx or xvid. You should have Mpeg4 ability by using ffmpeg's libraries (libavcodec aka. lavc); or as scarecrow says, latest Quicktime is based on Mpeg4 too. Yves. daniewicz
I didn't want to download a 351 MB file for testing I did find a smaller mp4 from the web which played with kmplayer and the codec package: all-20050412.tar.bz2 from: http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ Edited August 16, 2006 by daniewicz
scarecrow
I didn't want to download a 351 MB file for testing True enough, but it's a VERY interesting clip. Won't go into details, as I don't want to get political... But since vlc plays that under Arch, it should also playback under Mandriva, without any curious codecs package needed. daniewicz
Won't go into details, as I don't want to get political... Sadly, upon a closer look, I can view mp4's with the aforementioned codec package but I have no audio.
