Guest Joe Noob
I dont really know if this is a bug but when I try to open the Guarddog GUI from the K-menu , it opens but doesnt give me a chance to use it as root so I cant make changes to zones ie it doesnt prompt me for root PW. I think theres a window that comes up for this but you only see it for a split second and cant really tell what it is. So right now in order to get to it I have to use a file manager go to /var/lib/gnome/blah/blah bllah. Is there some script I can add to a file to get prompted for a PW or what do you guys do to configure Guarddog. Thanx in advance
ezroller
if you were to open up a terminal, su to root, and then type in guarddog, you could see if any errors are being given.
ezroller
also, if you are in KDE, you can right-click run command. then you can click options before you run it and there will be an option for run as a different user. I don't know about that scripting stuff though.
