AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

:evil::evil:

OKAY! SO! I've loaded everything and I have GUI installed also! I know this now but now I get error messages!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Here is what my Terminal has on it:

root# gmplayer

Using GNU internationalization

Original domain: messages

Original dirname: /usr/share/locale

Current domain: mplayer

Current dirname: /usr/share/locale

MPlayer 0.90pre8-RPM-3.1 © 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS)

CPU: Advanced Micro Devices Athlon 4 PM Palomino/Athlon MP Multiprocessor/Athlon XP eXtreme Performance (Family: 6, Stepping:2)

Complied with Runtime CPU Detection - warning, it's not optimal! To get best performance, recompile MPlayer with --disable-runtim-cpudetection

SKIN dir1: '/root/.mplayer/Skin'

SKIN dir2: '/usr/share/mplayer/skin'

MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: unknown

WHEW! are there any terminals that you can copy and paste from? ETerm doesn't have that option!

I've installed the font's because everytime I go to try to install the font's it says that it's already installed.

These are the RPM's that I am using:

libpng-1.0.9-1.i386.rpm

mplayer-common-0.90pre8-1.i386.rpm

mplayer-font-1.0-1.src.rpm

mplayer-gui-0.90pre8-1.i386.rpm

mplayer-skin-1.0-2.src.rpm

So what have I done wrong? I know I did something wrong somewhere. I just don't know where.

Thanks guys for being so helpful in this. I'm trying to become windows free... if only linux would be much easier to install on *sigh*

you wrote: "yes I'm using 9.0 RC3"

Oh, it seems as if all of your trouble in rooted in the fact, that you are using a RC3 instead of the final relase of MDK 9.0.

Sorry, but the rpms that I posted are suitable for MDK 9.0, and on the FINAL version they work very fine without any complains. :?

So, you could upgrate your MDK to final.

Or, you could try to compile your mplayer:

./configure --enable-gui

make

make install

please, also consult the fine manual/documentation in your mplayer directory:

/MPlayer-0.90pre8/DOCS/documentation.html#installation

I hope, some of my hints were helpful

don't give up,

tomasz

::BANGS HEAD INTO DESK:: :cry::cry:

I can't take it no more! AAAAAAAAA

Okay so I went and re-installed MDK 9.0 the final release. Well I started going through everything and well... I got gui to work... but... I still get a blue screen! ::SCREAM::

I changed my output source and everything and it just doesn't want to work for me.

So that's you on my avatar! Have you been installing mplayer on top of the one you already had, or uninstalling first? maybe bad/conflicting configs or something?
