Recked Posted July 1, 2006 Report Share Posted July 1, 2006 Hello, Finally broke down and bought Powerpack 2006 and wanted to ask a quick question before I ran the install on my Dell Workstation 650. I read a thread somewhere (don't recall what linux distro it was for) where it was mentioned that if you are using a smp machine that you should install the 64 bit version of a linux os. tyme Posted July 1, 2006 Report Share Posted July 1, 2006 don't install the 64-bit version unless you have a 64-bit processor. there are a variety of 64-bit processors, so if you are unsure let us know what processor you have and we can let you know if it's 64-bit.
