ianw1974
No, you only need su once! So: su (and enter root password when prompted) urpmi.removemedia -a urpmi.addmedia blah blah blah urpmi.addmedia blah blah blah each addmedia command is for main, contrib, updates, or any other sources you add, and blah blah blah is all the info for the mirrors your using for the media. I tend to just use the easyurpmi link at the top of this page, choose main, contrib, updates, plf-free and plf-nonfree and just copy and paste the code into the terminal window one line at a time and add the source. Use compressed index to make it faster, else main and contrib will take ages as they are 25MB each.
brian w.
OK, ianw, I believe I'm about to do this thing! Your last paragragh kind of spun me again (when you mentioned the "plf-free and plf-nonfree" thing) but I think I can get through this. May the Mandriva Gods shine down on you all. ianw1974
It's all in the easyurpmi repositories at the top of this page. plf is software that's either free hence plf-free and not free plf-nonfree. This normally includes nvidia or ati drivers and other such things that aren't free within the distro. Unless you pay and buy their edition that has these closed-source drivers in them. brian w.
Got it, ianw. I think alot of the stuff I've been educated on here would have been alot easier had I read the whole easyurpmi web page (which I hadn't scrolled all the way down on the easyurpmi web page). Thanks again! Brian
