linux n00b
Is there a way in mandriva 2006 that when I pick logout i can get an option to shutdown? Right now when i logout it logs me out then i have to go to options then pick shutdown or restart. I know in mandriva 2005 had this option, not sure why they took it out
ianw1974
What desktop are you running? If KDE, you need to have it set to KDM. So go to System/Configuration/Configure Your Computer/System/Display Manager. Once changed, to KDM you'll get the shutdown option. If using Gnome, then you need to change this to GDM instead, and then you'll get the shutdown here.
theYinYeti
I noticed that. Plain stupid IMO. Reboot and Shutdown are anything but D.E.-dependant... :( Yves. edit: Stupid forum code, too, that changes "DE" to "De" (for Desktop Environment of course). congdonb
If using KDE goto System >>Configuration>>KDE>>Components>>Session Manager and under General area at the top ensure "Offer shutdown options" is checked. You can also configure the default shutdown option there. Edited June 20, 2006 by congdonb
