Guest GorGor
Hi www.yoper.com is talked about with some other posts. linuxformat uk magazine feb edition has a cd out for Yoper and I forget but me thinks its a release candidate. I tried it and was overall impressed with its install time of about 30 mins on my hardware. Main thing I liked KDE 3.1 was much faster than kde 3.0 something from Mdk 9.0. Main dislikes, too new for a conservative user like me. And bit like Gentoo you are going to do some source rpm or tarballs to get your fav applications on. I wasn't too sure about if there was a central contral center like MCC. end of gossip
paul
as far as I am aware (I haven't actually tried it) it doesn't have *Control Center* But I will give it a go, and probabl give it some support, I am already a member of the mailing lists ...... But its one more for NZ :#: ... cool 8)
mdg
I tried it a few weeks ago, but it didn't pick up my modem or sound card. As far as I can see, there's no where to manually configure, except maybe console, which I'm not too good at. They had a forum, but it's been closed until the final release comes out. So, in short, it's just sitting on my computer until I figure out how to use it

SoulSe
I've been trying to get onto their page to find out what all the hoo ha is about - but it's been down all day. Anyway, it would have to be pretty freakin' amazing to make me move away from Mandrake (we're rated second at distrowatch!).
