so i'm trying to put VNC on my linux and windows machines, wired but soon to be wirelessly networked. i want to be able to access the linux box from a networked and a non-networked windoze computer.

i'm using TightVNC on both; and when i run "vncserver" in konsole, after entering a password, it says "Couldn't start Xvnc: trying default font path. Please select correct fontpath in the vncserver script." Then it says "New 'X' desktop is localhost:1."

But then, when I try to connect with Windows and TightVNC, it fails.

I was using RealVNC before and it gave me an error code 10060.

My router is opened on port 5900 for xxx.xxx.x.104 (the linux box) and port 5900 for xxx.xxx.x.100 (the windows box).

I also tried reversing this on another computer and having someone connect to my computer with the same error- timed out.

Help?
