Guest lufkin
Hi, I'm trying to install Mandriva 2006 but i have a problem. I did everything they asked (language, username, serurity level, etc...) I choosed to instal Mandriva on the Windows' Partition, the instalation did all the verifications and the installation started, but after a couple of seconds, the installation stoped and it said "no hdlist found".. What is the problem ? Thanks ! PS : Sorry for my "maybe bad" english.
scarecrow
Most likely a bad burn... can you verify the disk contents against the ISO ones? It can be easily done under windows, and/or Linux.
ianw1974
You can use md5sum under Linux, but you need the md5sum from the ftp mirror. These are found alongside the iso's you downloaded, and are easily checkable to make sure that they match. If you have a mismatch, you'll need to download the iso's again. If not, you can reburn but at a slower speed.

scarecrow
So, why the installation routine should fail to find hdlist when the file hdlist.cz on the first CD is present AND readable?

scarecrow
I'm confused as well... I think "Everything is all right..." meant that the installation CD had no errors, and not that the problem was actually solved. Hello?

I think "Everything is all right..." meant that the installation CD had no errors, and not that the problem was actually solved. Hello? Can anyone let me know the probable solution - how this got fixed ? I am getting the same error and inspite of trying all the permutation-combinations for partitioning. Now, my windows xp has also been formatted and I am left stranded. Any prompt replies will be really appreciated. Thank You ! tashya,
Dustpuppy
I've had this a couple of times when installing - I just tried and tried again, and after about 4 or 5 times it sudden worked. No idea at all what was wrong.
