Guest AlSess
I've been using Mandriva 10.1 without problems for a month or so (I'm the greenest of the green). Yesterday, my keyboard stopped working -- literally, in the middle of an email. This is only using KDE (3.4), it functions fine with GNOME and during the login process. I've looked at the KDE keyboard settings and everything seems to be in order. This newbie hasn't a clue what to do next.
ffi
Did you try making a new user and logging into KDE with that user?
Guest AlSess
Woo-hoo! Now, at the risk of revealing my ignorance, that I have a brandy new desktop what the heck do I do with all the data and applications for the old (broken) user. Is there an easy way to transfer them to the new user or better yet, has this isolated the problem to the point where there is a real fix? ffi
Look at my registry date, that´s when I installed. I´m about as n00b as you :P Probably one config file in your home directory is corrupted but I have no idea which one but my guess it´s in ~/.kde you could try renaming it and copying the /.kde folder from you´re new user to your old home dir
